The Bandshell

In 2019 I managed a project team of six (Rami Alotaibi, Dulce Arambula, Diana Cerri Verde, Naqsh Haider, Hua Wei, Yunchun Yang) in the creation of a resilient, seven hectare campus for the Circle of Christian Musicians of Cap-Haïtien (CEMUCHCA). This project was conceived in collaboration with Morphosis Architects and The NOW Institute.

The first phase of this project is a fully constructed bandshell. It was designed to be retractable to combat extreme weather events and will host a large concert on Cap-Haïtien’s 350th anniversary which coincides with Beethoven's birthday, the death of Henry Christophe, and the ten-year anniversary of the last devastating earthquake in Haiti. The subsequent project phases include dormitories and educational, energy generation and recreational facilities.

My Role

My role included maintaining necessary partnerships with CEMUCHCA and Haitian government officials as well as managing the acquisition and transport of materials.
